Gilbert Henry Bay Rum Aftershave Balm – Two Brad Thumbs Up

During our Bring Home the Bacon contest one of our contestants mentioned on our Facebook wall that her friends had just launched a new website selling a Bay Rum Aftershave Balm. Brad isn’t great at consistently using aftershave (I think it might be because he hasn’t found the right one?) and he often has problems with razor burn after shaving, so I responded on Facebook saying that it would be great to get a sample. The fine people of Gilbert Henry sent over a sample for Brad to use. He has now used it twice after shaving and this is what he has to say…

“First, the bottle looks fantastic. It just looks like a product that is going to soothe my skin. I sometimes use a Kiehls aftershave lotion and this is much more visually appealing. Its an alcohol free product, so unlike some other aftershave’s I have tried, it is only a soothing sensation after my shave. I used it twice already, the first time, I had minor difficulty getting the product out of the bottle, its not a squeeze bottle like my Kiehls. But once I figured it out, it was no problem. Just takes the right angle and a few shakes of the hand.

The balm itself is just as nice as the package it comes in. I used it once directly after shaving and once after shaving then the shower. Both times it had a fabulous soothing affect. The product smells great and feels even better on the face. I can’t be sure if I have ever used a Ray Bum aftershave balm before, Sally usually buys this stuff for me, but this might be turning me into a fan. Most guys I talk to find shaving as a necessary nuisance, we all hate the dreaded face burn after shaving. Most people have different areas that are sensitive, the upper lip, around the points on the chin, or like me the neck around the Adams apple. Both times after using this the burn went away. I’m not sure exactly when it did, but the second time I showered right before the doing some housework yesterday, and wasn’t thinking about razor burn at all. Doing laundry and taking out the trash isn’t exactly entertaining, so it was definitely the balm that cured my burn rather than a distraction.

So at least one person in my family loves it. Once Geeky Tyler needs to start shaving I will have him try it as well. I think it might be sooner than we think, I can start seeing some little darker whiskers!

• I love that Brad isn’t scratching at his neck after he uses it
