North Face Winter LRBC Insulated PantsI want to know, why are good snowboarding pants always so expensive? When my mom asked me what I wanted for Christmas this year, I told her I needed new snowboarding pants. Of course she had no idea where to look or what to get. So I did some research online but felt bad about asking her to get me 300-dollar gear. I had some wonderful North Face pants before, but I lost a little weight with last year (hot yoga really does work wonders) and when I went snowboarding in early December, and they didn’t fit quite right anymore.

It’s important to get a good fit with any snowboarding pants. They should be snug, but not so tight you can’t tuck your hundreds of layers into them. Another issue is that I am on the shorter side. I don’t want the bottoms dragging on the ground when I try to snap in so I needed to find petite snowboarding pants.

I ended up telling my mom to get me these: The North Face Winter LRBC Insulated Pants. They come in small/short, so height wasn’t an issue. They have a great price (mom used a Cheap Sally coupon code too, of course) and the reviews all said they were warm snowboarding pants that are easy to move in.

I am happy to report I went snowboarding in January and these pants were perfect! The hand warmer zipper pockets were a nice touch and they are completely waterproof, so no snow got in my boots on my back when I took some snowboarding spills (I knew I shouldn’t have attempted that black diamond). The pockets are also BIG. They have lots of room to carry trail maps and other supplies. I would recommend them to anyone looking for nice ski or snowboarding pants that won’t break the bank. I can’t wait to use them again in February. Thanks Mom, I couldn’t have asked for a better holiday gift!
