Question 1: Why do you deserve to Bring Home the Bacon?

Answer: Well, let's be honest. My family needs the money. My husband was laid off in March, forcing my small business to close (so I could seek FT work.) We're struggling. Blogging has become something to ease the financial strain we're in...not only as an emotional outlet but also as a way to bring in a little cash. In addition, I deserve this opportunity because I'm a fantastic writer who's devoted to my work! I work diligently on *quality* posts for my blog, not just mediocre paragraphs. This opportunity would validate my efforts as a writer and allow our family to catch up on bills.

Question 2: What are your current money saving strategies?

Answer: Strategy #1: Don't spend money...cos we don't have it. Strategy #2: When you MUST spend money...spend as little as possible.LOL Seriously though, we coupon like crazy people around here. Clipping those little gems for everything we can think of. We "recycle" items we don't need anymore. (Kids clothes, toys, household items, etc.) When we do buy things (very seldom these days), we use SwagBucks to earn cash back and always take advantage of coupon codes offered by websites. I teach coupon classes and always add useful information to my seminars as I come across it.

Question 3: What is your greatest money saving feat?

Answer: Definitely grocery savings! Our family of four was spending upwards of $1000 a month on food, toiletries, and household items before couponing . We've got it down to $175 or less every month right now and even when we had two in diapers and one on formula, we were only spending around $210 every month. Grocery store couponing has saved us THOUSANDS over the years!

Question 4: Who is your favorite member of the CheapSally extended family?

Answer: Trendy Blair is definitely my favorite character (probably because I like to live vicariously through her.) While I come across as your typical Mom who dresses in only the least expensive clothing and doesn't wear makeup very often, I secretly would LOVE to live a jet-setting lifestyle full of fashion, beauty, and pampering. But you know what they say, "The grass is always greener on the other side!" Hmm...wonder if Blair wants to trade places with Run-of-the-Mill Elizabeth for a day? :)
