Lisa Koivu's Questions & Answers

Question 1: Why do you deserve to Bring Home the Bacon?

Answer: I don't know that I deserve to Bring Home the Bacon more than anyone else, but I'd like to bring it home mainly because I'd like to share the deals I find each day with more people! Quick story - I was recently at Macy's and was appalled at the price for most items. I realized that because of the deals I find - and share - I haven't paid anywhere near retail prices on clothes, shoes, and accessories in years. I am enjoying the best brands for less - and I'd love to share with everyone how they can do the same so we can all bring home the bacon.

Question 2: What are your current money saving strategies?

Answer: My number one strategy is to stay the heck away from the stores! I do most of my shopping online because I have found that whenever I make the occasional trip into stores like Target I walk out with a full cart of stuff I don't need. Shopping online makes me really think through my purchases and eliminates impulse buys. Plus, when you shop online you can almost always find coupons . If you don't have a coupon, wait a week - one will surely appear!

Question 3: What is your greatest money saving feat?

Answer: Last winter Old Navy was offering 50% off their entire selection of winter coats. I waited literally until the last possible minute to purchase a coat because I wasn't sure I REALLY wanted it. It was 11:50 p.m. CT when I finally gave in and decided to buy it. However, at that point it was already the next day in the eastern time zone, so Old Navy had released a new promo code for 25% off outerwear. Still being the previous day in Chicago though, I was able to get 50% off the coat AND combine it with the 25% off promo code. It was pretty darn awesome if I do say so myself!

Question 4: Who is your favorite member of the CheapSally extended family?

Answer: Trendy Blair is clearly my favorite for a couple of reasons: Like Blair (and Sally), I, too, went to Michigan! I consider myself a quasi-fashionista and if vacationing could be a job I'd be a millionaire. Blair is my favorite though because her blog has retail bargains on it, like my own. I'm pretty sure if Blair and I met in real life we would be BFF!
