Question 1: Why do you deserve to Bring Home the Bacon?

Answer: As I mentioned, I have been thrifty as long as I can remember, perhaps in part because I was the 7th child born to depression-era parents who lived frugally out of necessity in rural Maine. This describes many; I, however, choose to embrace it! I don't have some remarkable story about being a bazillion dollars in debt and working my out. Nope. Not me. I've always shunned debt and embraced a deal. I just enjoy living simpler so I can give more, save wisely and spend less. I want to teach others that life can be about more than the acquisition of stuff, and it should be. But we do need stuff--so always get the best deal.

Question 2: What are your current money saving strategies?

Answer: What you should be asking is what AREN'T my current money-saving strategies. Yard sales, thrift stores, libraries, coupons , clearance racks, backyard gardening, hand-me-downs, internet deals , price-matching...there's pretty much nothing I won't do to try to save money. But I do consider the internet one of the money-saving wonders of the modern world. Ranks right up there with compound interest.

Question 3: What is your greatest money saving feat?

Answer: Is this a trick question? Let me just go with the most recent: About a year ago I was searching for the best "rewards" credit card and found what seemed to be a winner listed on brad's deals . Jumping through a few obligatory hoops, I scored 100,000 free miles for signing up and charging X amount in X amount of days. This is enough to get free round trip tickets for two to Europe! Woot! (AA Citi Card) A couple months later, Alec Baldwin was touting Capital One's Mile Match on TV. Could I score again? I could, and I did. Within two weeks I had 100,000 more miles and flew my family of 6 to Florida for free. Now to get that trip to Europe planned...

Question 4: Who is your favorite member of the CheapSally extended family?

Answer: I think I like Brad because he reminds me of my own husband. He may not be out there getting the deals , but he appreciates the fact that he is married to someone who does! Way to marry up, buddy.
